Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a branch of yoga which involves a series of physical asanas (postures) that when combined with the control of the breath allow the body’s energy to flow freely to create a balance between the mind and the body.

Hatha Yoga is a holistic approach to health and well-being. Although it is primarily concerned with the physical body, other systems of the body are equally affected, such as the nervous, immune, respiratory and digestive systems. Hatha Yoga works on the person’s total well-being - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Regular yoga practice has the benefit of increasing your flexibility and the range of motion in your joints, toning your muscles, removing toxins and impurities, increasing your energy level and vitality, and promoting self healing. Overall yoga helps to restore and maintain your health and well-being.

Hatha Yoga is offered on a one-to-one basis or for small groups. This approach will provide you with the personal attention required to deepen your individual practice and to allow you to progress at your own pace. No prior knowledge or experience of yoga, and no minimum level of fitness or flexibility are required to benefit from the sessions.

Each yoga session lasts 75 minutes and is suitable for one-to-one or for a small group of participants. For information on classes please see Noticeboard and Schedule tab.

Testimonials

“My yoga sessions with Sumita are an oasis of relaxation in a hectic week. Sumita is a super teacher, the sessions fly by, they are tailored to individual needs, incorporate a wide range of poses and the relaxation time at the end is bliss. I look forward to my yoga and really miss it if for any reason I have not been able to attend. I always leave the session feeling invigorated and ready for the day ahead”.

--- Caroline, Chalfont St. Giles, Bucks.

“This time feels like a personal pampering spa treatment. I enjoy the chance to stretch, twist and relax all areas of my body….including some that I didn’t know existed. And breathing deeply is also important for me. Sumita often tailors the session to address particular aches and pains. She is a really encouraging teacher, so I feel able to have a go at everything and just work to my level. The final relaxation session often finds me nodding off, but I leave feeling recharged to tackle the rest of the day”.

--- Tricia, Gerrards Cross, Bucks.
